Car Wash Sponge Use and Care

A reusable wash sponge performs best when it is fully wet, frequently rinsed and kept away from heavy wheel or ground contamination.

Rinse before first contact

Wet the sponge completely and rinse the vehicle to remove loose dirt. Never begin wiping a dry, dusty painted surface.

Use separate tools for different areas

Keep one sponge for painted panels and another for wheels, lower body areas or utility cleaning. This reduces the chance of transferring abrasive debris.

Rinse during the wash

Flush the sponge frequently in clean water. If it falls on the ground, stop using it until all trapped grit has been removed.

Clean and dry after use

Rinse until the water runs clear, gently squeeze out excess water without twisting aggressively and allow the sponge to air-dry completely.

Replace when damaged

Retire a sponge that remains contaminated, develops hard particles, tears significantly or no longer rinses clean.
